About This Message
Finding Fulfilment (Effective Living) is a message by Apostle Joshua Selman, preached at a church’s fifteenth anniversary, on living a life of purpose and meaning that is measured by how faithfully we fulfil God’s purpose.
Apostle Selman begins by defining four terms: destiny, purpose, potential, and fulfilment. He defines fulfilment as the satisfaction of knowing you have lived effectively serving the purposes of God and being a blessing to humanity. He then examines the science of achievement and the art of fulfilment through the six motivations behind human behaviour: the need for security, variety, significance, love and acceptance, growth, and impact and contribution. He contrasts the world’s way with God’s way, and points to peace in Christ as the true pursuit.
The core of the message is five foundational questions every person must answer to live an effective life: Who am I? Where am I from? Why am I here? What can I do? Where am I going? Along the way, he shows what the Bible says about you, including that you are a son of God, the salt of the earth, and the light of the world. The message closes with a prayer of salvation, prophetic declarations, and a final blessing.
