About This Message
Understanding the Process of Growth is a message by Apostle Joshua Selman, delivered in Benin City at the church of Apostle Charles Osazuwa, on the divine pattern by which God raises believers into spiritual stature.
Apostle Selman begins with a simple picture: a successful architect or businessman can explain every step that brought him to where he is, and anyone who understands that formula can be brought to the same place. He applies the same principle to the Church, teaching that no one grows into maturity by accident, and that the Great Commission has three dimensions: world evangelisation for the unbeliever, discipleship for the believer, and territorial or societal transformation for society.
The message then lays out the architecture of growth. It starts with the gospel and the law of salvation, then moves to three ministries that must be introduced into a believer’s life right after salvation: the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the ministry of prayer and the Word, and the ministry of the teaching priest. Transformation itself happens in three stages: enlightenment, renewal, and the formation of Christ within the believer. The message closes with the fullness of God, which Apostle Selman summarises as the nature of God, the wisdom of God, and the power of God, and calls on every minister to build all three into the people they serve.
