About This Message
Just Say No is a classic sermon by Billy Graham, preached at the Dakota Field Crusade in Fargo, North Dakota, on the courage to say no to temptation by the power of Christ.
Graham opens with 1 Corinthians 9 and 10 and names the hardest word a young person has to say: “no,” whether the pressure comes from drugs, cigarettes, or sexual temptation. He then walks through four young men in Scripture who said it. Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself in Babylon, and that early “no” prepared him for the lions’ den. Joseph refused Potiphar’s wife and was later raised up by God. Moses chose affliction with God’s people over the pleasures of sin, and the message draws the line between fleeting pleasure and lasting joy. Jesus met the devil’s three temptations in the wilderness with Scripture, the Spirit, and the will of God.
The message closes with the three things needed to say yes to Christ: change your mind in repentance, receive Him by faith, and follow Him. It ends with an invitation to come to Christ.

Key Scripture
1 Corinthians 10:13
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
This is the promise the message rests on: every temptation is common to man, God always provides a way out, and the Holy Spirit gives strength to take it.
